Halle Bailey Opens Up About Postpartum Struggles

In a rare display of vulnerability, singer and actress Halle Bailey took to Twitter this afternoon to discuss her struggle with postpartum. The back-to-back tweets followed her ex-boyfriend, DDG’s November 6, 2024 appearance on Kai Cenat’s livestream with their 11-month-old son, Halo.

The two broke up earlier this month, in an announcement made by rapper/YouTuber DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. Up until today, Bailey seemed unbothered, working as usual and posting with no mention of their separation on any of her social media. So when the 24-year old mom took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to vent her frustrations, thousands tuned in.

Halle Bailey’s Quiet Pregnancy

Throughout her pregnancy, Halle refused to acknowledge speculation and rumors that she was expecting, making regular appearances at screenings and red carpets well into her third trimester. She even poked fun at fans when they called her out for having “pregnancy nose.” It wasn’t until January of 2024 that she revealed she’d given birth to her son Halo in December of 2023.

DDG Brings Baby Halo to Kai Cenat Live Stream

While both Bailey and DDG have shown their son on social media, Halle expressed discomfort with Halo appearing on Kai Cenat’s stream.

Given the brash, adult nature of Cenat’s show, it’s understandable. Just yesterday he had rapper Kodak Black as a guest, while he appeared to be high on an undisclosed substance.

Bailey’s not the first young star to publicly get into it with her baby daddy. Actress Keke Palmer had her own very public dispute with ex, Darius Jackson in 2023.

Halle Bailey Shares Postpartum Struggles

Halle Bailey has been open about her bout with postpartum, revealing on April 16, 2024 via Snapchat, that she suffers from “severe postpartum [depression].”

I don’t know if any new moms can relate, but it’s to the point where it’s really bad, and it’s hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out,

The second tweet directly discussing The Little Mermaid star’s postpartum depression has since been deleted. As of today, Halle Bailey’s instagram account (@hallebailey) appears to be shut down. We wish her the best as she navigates motherhood and co-parenting with her ex DDG.
