Who says bullying doesn’t work? After some very vocal peer pressure from Twitter, The Read, and other corners of the internet with working WiFi and common sense, Keke Palmer quietly pulled the plug on her Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast interview with Jonathan Majors.
Keke has been a beloved figure since childhood. She’s talented, magnetic, and naturally gifted at making people feel at ease. There’s no denying her hosting and interview chops, but even she couldn’t smooth over the uncomfortable energy that surrounded Majors’ recent media appearances—including this one.
The Episode That Never Was
Last week, the episode was teased with a full rollout: clips on Instagram, headlines in the blogs, and a sit-down with a man who’s spent the past year trying to reframe his public image. The episode was aptly titled “No Easy Answers: Accountability and Moving Forward With Jonathan Majors.”
But when the episode dropped? It wasn’t him—it was Kash Doll. No announcement, no explanation, just a quiet switch that said more than words could.
And based on the clips still floating around online, that was the right call. The chemistry was off. Jonathan seemed stiff, and Keke—normally so at ease—looked like she was working overtime to keep things flowing. It didn’t feel like a necessary conversation. It felt like damage control.
Let’s Talk About Jonathan
Jonathan Majors was found guilty in December 2023 of assault and harassment after an incident involving his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Though he initially denied the accusations, an audio recording later surfaced of him saying, “I aggressed you.” And that wasn’t the only thing. Other women from his past—exes, colleagues, former classmates—have come forward with stories about his temper and alleged violence.
And then there’s the Megan Good of it all. Since the trial, he’s been appearing at high-profile Black events with her, and people online have noticed the shift. For someone who’d previously only been seen publicly with white women (and shares a child with one), the timing of this relationship has raised eyebrows. The fact that the two wed just days after the recorded call was made public, is even more troubling. Whether intentional or not, the optics are working overtime.
Keke’s Own History Matters
That’s part of why this moment hit a nerve. In 2023, Keke filed for a restraining order against her ex, Darius Jackson, citing multiple incidents of domestic abuse—some of which were caught on home security footage. She was granted temporary sole custody of their son. So when people saw her platforming someone like Majors, it felt like a disconnect. How does someone who’s been through that turn around and offer space to a man with such recent, public allegations?
It’s not the first time the One of Them Days star caught heat for this type of misstep. Years ago, she defended R. Kelly, only walking it back after watching Surviving R. Kelly and calling the experience “eye-opening.” People grow, and Keke has been open about learning in real time—but the public has a long memory, and those patterns matter.
So What Now?
We don’t know why the episode was pulled. Maybe she had second thoughts o felt the pressure. Maybe she watched it back and realized it just didn’t sit right. Either way, we’re glad it didn’t drop.
Because in this moment—one that’s still unfolding—what we don’t need is another safe space for someone like Jonathan Majors to coast through questions. And what we do need is discernment, especially from someone as influential and trusted as Keke Palmer.
